Editorial Policy

Sourcing

Stories originate from monitored industry publications, wire services, exchange and regulator notices, port and terminal bulletins, company disclosures and direct reporting. Every claim in a published story must be traceable to a source on file.

Verification stages

Each draft passes a multi-stage editorial check before publication:

• Source reliability — is the originating publication or issuer credible and correctly identified?
• Factual consistency — do names, figures, dates, grades, volumes and locations match the source?
• Attribution completeness — is the original reporting credited and linked?
• Duplication — does this restate an existing Atlas story without new information?
• Legal and reputational risk — are claims about companies and individuals supported and fairly framed?

A story that fails any stage is returned for revision or held.

Editing and publication

An editor reviews every article for accuracy, clarity, framing and headline fidelity before it is published. Headlines must be supportable by the body of the story.

Independence

Coverage decisions rest with editorial staff alone. Commercial partners receive no advance notice of, or influence over, editorial content.

Corrections and updates

We correct promptly and transparently. Material corrections carry a note on the article. Non-material typographic fixes may be made silently. Request a correction at any time.

Right of reply

Organisations named in a critical context are offered an opportunity to respond, and their response is reflected in the story or in a follow-up.
